Meet Chuck and Sue

Cochato Nursery is the lifelong work of owners Chuck Doughty and Sue DuBrava, who have spent over 30 years transforming their Holbrook property into a premier destination for rare plants and inspired design. The nursery is a tranquil sanctuary featuring winding paths, sculptural Japanese Maples, rare conifers, koi ponds, and a famous garden railway.

Chuck serves as the President of the American Hosta Society and Cochato has the prestigious honor of being an Official AHS National Display Garden. Under his and Sue’s stewardship, with over 400 varieties of hostas integrated into the grounds, the garden serves as a living classroom.
